EBRD Provides Financing for Rengy Development’s Second Solar Project

June 20, 2013

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing financing to another solar project of Rengy Development in the Vinnytsia region. The new plant, located in the Tomashpil area, will have a capacity of 5 MWp.

The plant, which spans 11 hectares, will feature over 20,000 polycrystalline PV modules installed on fixed structures, and will boast an annual production capacity of 5.74 GWh. This equates to the average energy consumption of approximately 6,500 residents and will offset the emission of over 5,000 tons of CO2 annually.

This marks the second solar energy project that Rengy Development has financed in partnership with the EBRD in Ukraine through the Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF). USELF is an investment facility designed to provide financing to local companies seeking to invest in renewable energy projects. Notably, the first photovoltaic plant in the world funded by the EBRD was also commissioned by Rengy Development in 2012.
