Mykolaiv Region Welcomes 17.4 MW Solar Expansion

November 15, 2019

The Mykolaiv region has added another 17.4 MW of solar power capacity with the commissioning of the second stage of a solar park.

BlockMaster, the engineering division of Rengy Development, has successfully completed construction and commissioning of the second solar power plant within the park. This joint venture between Rengy Development and Norwegian Scatec Solar is now generating clean energy using 50,489 monocrystalline solar panels, each with a power capacity of 345 W.

Spanning 21.8 hectares, the plant is expected to contribute over 22 GWh to the Ukrainian energy system annually.

Reaching New Heights:

With the completion of the second stage, the solar park’s total capacity now reaches 47 MW, projected to generate approximately 56 GWh annually. This will power 15,000 households and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 51,000 tons per year – equivalent to removing 10,200 cars from the road.
