Rengy Development Continues to Support Local Communities in 2023

April 2, 2024

Rengy Development is committed to fostering strong relationships with the communities where our energy projects are located. We believe in actively understanding their needs and contributing to their well-being through targeted social responsibility initiatives.

Mykolaiv Region:

  • Tokarivka: In 2023, Rengy Bioenergo, a joint venture between Rengy Development and Scatec, funded the reconstruction of the roof of the "Veselka" (Rainbow) kindergarten, benefitting approximately 50 children aged 2-6 years.
    • In response to power outages caused by Russian attacks, Rengy also provided generators to ensure uninterrupted water supply for Tokarivka residents.
    • Our commitment to Tokarivka extends back to 2020, when we drilled an artesian well and installed modern water pumping equipment, providing clean drinking water for 1,500 community members.
  • Taborivka: Rengy Bioenergo continued its ongoing maintenance and refurbishment of children's playgrounds and sports fields in Tokarivka and Taborivka, a practice initiated in 2021.
    • In Taborivka, we also provided local children with modern laptops and established a computer class in the local elementary school, benefitting nearly 100 students.
  • Afanasiyivka: A new computer class was set up in Yuriivka village, part of the Afanasiyivka community, where Rengy Development operates a solar power plant.
    • The post office in Afanasiyivka was renovated, a crucial step in maintaining communication channels, especially during times of conflict.
    • Despite the destruction caused by Russian forces, we partially restored production at the Afanasiyivka solar power plant in 2023 and are committed to restoring full capacity in 2024.

Odesa Region:

  • We purchased pumping equipment for a community in the Berezovsky district.
  • In the Izmail district, we provided and installed a hybrid inverter-based uninterruptible power supply system for a village council, ensuring emergency power in case of outages.

Looking Ahead:

Rengy Development remains committed to supporting the local communities where our solar power plants operate and where new projects are underway. We believe in building strong, lasting relationships and contributing to the well-being of the communities that host our energy infrastructure.
